Dear Vaughan Williams
Last night we heard Malcolm Sargent & the Philadelphia Orchestra do your “Wasps”. It sounded to me like a very inspired & perfect performance. I have heard the work several times before & always relished it greatly; but never quite so keenly as last night. What a flow of captivating melody!
Ella & I hope you are both very well, as we are. My health is going along finely.
Please do not bother to answer these lines. I just want to say that we thank you very warmly for last night’s treat.
Yours ever
