Letter No.: VWL3019

From R. Vaughan Williams,
The White Gates,
Westcott Road,
Dorking.

June 4 [1949]

Dear Mr. Smith,

Thank you for your letter of May 23 (A.7/7/M.L.)
I have decided to take Radio Set Model 2000 which I presume is the set which gives the 3rd programme only.  The price of this to me as I understand in your letter will be £93-3-9.
This set, up to the present has not been quite satisfactory since it has at least twice gone right out of action for about ½ hour.  I hope that your engineers will make sure that it is in order when they come down.
I should also like to keep the record player – Model 1250 on which I understand the price will be £63-12-0
I do not wish to keep the Radiogram Model 5400 and I will ask your Agents to take it away at their convenience. – at the same time making sure that the two instruments that I keep are in working order and properly connected.
I should like to thank your Engineers for all the trouble they have taken and you for your kindly lending me the instruments on trial.
Yours sincerely,

R. Vaughan Williams1
