Dear Juanita,¹

Thank you for your delightful letter and all the songs, which are all interesting and some of them beautiful: did you get them out of printed books, or purely orally?  I ask, for if the latter, I would with your leave, send them to the journal of the English folk-song society.  But if they are already printed, of course there is no point.
I am sending you a little quantity of ruled music paper so that next time you won’t have to rule your own lines – though you do it so beautifully.
I do hope we shall hear your programme before too long.
