Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to John Lowe (BBC)

Letter No.: VWL2811

From R. Vaughan Williams,
10, Hanover Terrace,
Regents Park,
London, N.W.1.

March 28th 1954.

Dear Mr Lowe,

I am very sorry but I have a rehearsal for our Dorking Festival on April 25th which will prevent my accepting your kind invitation.  You say the soprano is not chosen for the violin songs yet.1  I should very much like to have Miss Nancy Evans, who has lately recorded them.  I should very much like to have the same violinist as played for the record, unfortunately I cannot remember his name,2 but I feel sure that Argo would tell you.
Yours sincerely,

R Vaughan Williams
