Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Joan Western
Letter No.: VWL863
From R. Vaughan Williams,
The White Gates,
Westcott Road,
Dorking.
Jan 9 [1936]
Dear Mrs Western
I have noted February 16 in my diary though I am rather surprised at Miss Cohen being able to fix up so early a date as I understood she was not at all well after her operation.
I am afraid that Miss Stoddarts’ evening would clash with another engagement, but I will see what I can do –
Yours sincerely
R. Vaughan Williams
P.S. Many thanks for your kind invitation but I am afraid – as far as I can see at present – that I shall have to get home as soon as the concert is over.
