Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to James McKay Martin

Letter No.: VWL2701

From R. Vaughan Williams,
The White Gates,
Westcott Road,
Dorking.

July 11th 1953.

Dear Martin,

Thank you for your letter suggesting a concert performance of my “Bridal Day”.1 At present I feel firstly, that I should like to have at all events one stage performance before it retires to the concert room, and, secondly, that it will not do for the concert room as it stands but will have to be re-arranged and I am much too full of other things at present to be able to do that.
Yrs

R Vaughan Williams
