Letter No.: VWL1532

From R. Vaughan Williams,
The White Gates,
Westcott Road,
Dorking.

May 1st 1941

Dear Sir,

In reply to your letter of April 24.
If I can be of any use I shall be happy to serve on the committee of C.E.M.A.1
Yrs faithfully

R Vaughan Williams

1. VW had been invited to sit on the Committee for the Encouragement of Music and the Arts (later the Arts Council) in place of Walford Davies, who had died on 11th March. He remains the only composer to have served on the Arts Council proper, though a number have served on the Arts Council’s Music Panel.
