Dear Herbert,

I would love to have the Galliard and the Pavane dedicated to me¹ – its all nonsense about your not being able to play them, of course you can: also, I should like to hear the new Mass.² At the moment I am right in the thick of the Mat. Pash.³ so may we wait till March 6th, the day after the second performance, any time and for any meal, or March 7th, morning or early afternoon.4
