Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Henry Walford Davies
Letter No.: VWL5270
[late November 1922?]
Dear Walford
You must forgive
(a) my not writing before
(b) my writing now – when probably you are snowed under with letters
There are very few ways in which we can publicly express our admiration of people – so I am glad that the country public at large has used this rather clumsy way of telling you what they think about you, of which public I want to be one if I may.
Also the particular form of acknowledgement is in sort a recognition of & attempt to repair scurvy treatment in the past from the same source
