The White Gates,
Dorking, Surrey.

30th January, 1953.

Dear Sir,

I am writing to you on the advice of Mr. Alan Frank of the Oxford University Press.
Mr. Roy Douglas is arranging my “Folk Songs of the Four Seasons” as a suite for orchestra only. I am not quite sure of the title yet, but I will let you know.
What I want to ask is, would it be possible to treat Mr. Douglas for the purpose of fees as the sole composer of the work – i.e., that he will receive all royalties, performing fees &c., which are due on that work.
I shall be very much obliged if you can arrange this.
Yours faithfully,

R Vaughan Williams
