Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Guthrie Foote (OUP)

Letter No.: VWL2459

The White Gates,
Dorking,
Surrey.

August 9th 1952.

Dear Foote,

Please read the enclosed letter. I think there is already a descant to my “Sine Nomine”. If not I suppose I must do one.1
Yours sincerely,

R. Vaughan Williams

1. The Organ Guild of Atlanta had written asking if VW would provide a descant for brass instruments and tympani to the tune Sine Nomine which he had written for Hymn 641 in The English Hymnal.
