My dear dear V.H.
I feel a perfect beast to be throwing cold water on your beautiful scheme – but I should feel more of a beast if I were to have this opinion and hold my tongue – and don’t you think that what I have said has some weight – do consult with some other people and do remember that however much we may despise the opinion of ordinary people yet that they will have absolute power to subject you to distresses and humiliations both on your journey & when you come back which will entirely swamp any pleasure or profit which you my get out of your expedition.
Yrs always
R.V.W.
