Dear Gustav
It is really splendid of them to want to come – we will see what we can fix up when we get to Dorking where our perfectly appalling address will be

We go to Littlehampton for a week tomorrow & to Dorking on the 29th.
I enjoyed Gloucester v. much & Willy1 was really inspired – I also shared bottles of beer with Elgar but, I fear, rather pained him by saying that in my opinion the Reformation was indirectly responsible for the 3 choirs festival, since if we had kept the celibacy of the clergy we shd not have to have provided for their widows, but only their orphans.
