[1930s?]

Dear Grace
I was listening to the Brahms D minor concerto 2 days ago & the slow movement made me think of you. So I thought I wd write to hear news of you.
I am writing to Sargent1 today to see if there is any thing doing about your Suite. You might if you write to me say what all the extra instruments in your suite are, in case we can do anything
Yrs Uncle Ralph

1. Malcom Sargent, chief conductor of the Promenade Concerts 1948-1967, and conductor of orchestras at the Royal College of Music. It is not clear which Suite by Williams is being discussed, but probably the Suite for orchestra (1932) due to the reference to extra instruments.
