Dear Professor Murray
I have now sketched out the music for your “Iphigenia” for the Liverpool people – There has not been time to do anything very distinguished – but I have made it very simple & tried to get the declamation right. Could I come down to see you one day soon and show you the music to see if it meets your approval as far as the general character and the declamation of the words is concerned.
Yours very truly
R. Vaughan Williams
P.S. I am afraid I cannot show the music off to you as I did last time – I can only try to give you an idea of it at the piano.
