The White Gates,
Dorking.
July 24 [1947?]
Dear Parker
With regard to my ‘House of Life’ songs could you see your way to cut out the one about the “Gonfalon”? I forget its title but you will recognize it from that word.1 It is a thoroughly bad song – I do not like ‘Hearts Haven’ either – Some people do not agree with me about this. I wish I could have heard you sing my Mystical Songs the other day. I liked your singing of them so much when I heard you formerly.2
With kind regards
Yours sincerely
R. Vaughan Williams3
