Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to George Macaulay Trevelyan
Letter No.: VWL4578
The White Gates,
Dorking.
25th May, 1949.
Dear George,
Thank you so much for, as I presume you did, asking Longman’s to send me your Biography. The whole story has moved me very much and reminded me, partly with pleasure and partly with pain, of the old days.
Thank you so much for that and all the other things you have written.
By the way, I doubt whether Archdeacon Grantley wore the same hat as Archdeacon Cunningham. He probably wore a top hat.
Yrs
