Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Geoffrey Corbett

Letter No.: VWL5187

From R. Vaughan Williams,
The White Gates,
Westcott Road,
Dorking.

31 May 1947

Dear Corbett

I hear from Gundry1 that you are unwise enough to want to come and hear my new symphony played through on the pianoforte by Michael Mullinar.2 Of course, I should be proud, and if “Jane Vowles”3 would come with you, I should be prouder still. The date is Thursday, 5th June, the place – Royal College of Music and the time – 11.30 and/or 2.30.

Yours sincerely

R Vaughan Williams
