Thank you for your interesting letter. Please give your performers my affectionate greetings. I believe that music prepared and performed in common is a sure way of getting to its real meaning.
I feel very proud that my music should form part of the substratum of your splendid communal effort. In your desire to find out the meaning of contemporary composers, do not forget to hitch your waggons to the great stars, Beethoven, Bach and Mozart.
