Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to F.W. Evans
Letter No.: VWL197
10, Barton Street,
Westminster
[On or about March 26 1905]
Dear Mr Evans
If Miss Cordingley can sing E I can alter the F in her part which only comes once. The whole part is not for a high soprano but for a mezzo – or medium contralto – the compass is C – F (or E). I have the part ready here when I know whom to send it to.
