Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Evelyn Sharp
Letter No.: VWL856
The White Gates,
Westcott Road,
Dorking.
Sunday [April 13 1930]
Dear Miss Sharp
Certainly send to Barry Jackson if you like1 – though I don’t imagine its much use – He certainly would not know my name – If the O.U. Press2 published our opera they would of course do it words & music complete – Whether they published the libretto separately would be a matter of arrangement later.
Yours sincerely
R Vaughan Williams
1. Sharp was trying to find someone to produce The Poisoned Kiss. Barry Jackson was director of the Birmingham Repertory Theatre. See VWL853.
