Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Evangeline Farrer

Letter No.: VWL4392

The White Gates,
Westcott Road,
Dorking.

March 8th [about 1946?]

Dear Evangeline
Here is the draft of a letter which I want to have printed and circulated in thousands over Dorking. I have purposely made it rather sensational. It has the approval of the secretary of the Dorking Halls Ctee. Do you think that you cd see your way to sign it as president of the LHMC?
& if you approve I will also sign myself & get the president of the Operatic (if there is one) to sign also
Yrs very sincerely
R Vaughan Williams

1. The draft letter does not survive. Probably written after the war, when the Dorking Halls were under threat of closure. Year estimated.
