Letter No.: VWL4228

From R. Vaughan Williams,
The White Gates,
Westcott Road,
Dorking.

Oct 10 [1940]

Dear Mr Newman
As a result, presumably, of our meeting at the R.A.M.1 I have been asked by the Home Office to recommend for release from internment musicians of “undoubted eminence”.
We had our first meeting on Oct 8th and have sent several recommendations
Yours sincerely
R Vaughan Williams
