Yrs very truly
R. Vaughan Williams
1. At the time Principal of the Guildhall School of Music.
2. ‘17.i.1912. Dear Dr. Vaughan Williams, This is only just to acknowledge the receipt of your letter and the score of the Rhapsody by your friend Mr. Farrar. I am colossally hard worked at the moment, what with my School work, my various concerts, York Bowen’s new Symphony and scoring my new work for the Philharmonic. You can imagine that it is quite impossible for me to devote any attention to that which is not immediate. Mr. Farrar will have to have much patience, I fear, and wait. I am just off to Manchester and shall not be back until the end of the week. With kind regards, believe me, Yours very sincerely, Landon Ronald’
