Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Ellis and White
Letter No.: VWL5191
10, Barton Street,
Westminster.
Oct 30th [1904]
Gentlemen
I beg to write to ask leave to print the words of D.G. Rossetti’s Sonnets (‘The House of Life’, sonnets iv, ix, xix, xxii, xlviii, and lix) in the book of words of a concert which I am giving at the Bechstein Hall on Friday Dec 2d at which musical settings of these words will be performed. My musical setting of sonnet xix has already been published (with your leave) by Messrs Willcocks – the others are still in m.s.1
Yrs faithfully
R Vaughan Williams
