From R. Vaughan Williams,
10, Hanover Terrace,
Regents Park,
London, N.W.1.
January 10th 1954
My dear Bessie,
It was very nice to hear from you and I hope we shall see you here one day. We love our new house, and Ursula has made it beautiful.
I am sending you a copy of one of my arrangements of Greensleeves from which I think Philip Erasmus1 can pick out the tune. I have to confess that it is a “cento”. There are several versions of the tune and I took the best bits out of each version. I feel I am quite justified.
Love from us both,
Ralph.
