1. ‘Number 2.’ reference is unclear.  The Yeats songs are Six Yeats Settings for soprano soloist, female chorus, clarinet, 2 horns and harp.

3.  Vilma Löwenbach, wife of Jan Löwenbach (1880-1972), a native of Czechoslovakia who lived in the United States from 1941 until his death in 1972.  He was a Czech music critic, writer and attorney; Elizabeth Maconchy would have met her in her time studying in Prague.
