1. The first broadcast performance of Maconchy’s Dialogue for piano and orchestra, written in 1940 was in a concert at 6 pm on Tuesday 8 November on the Third Programme. Maurice Miles conducted the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Other works were by Boyce and Robin Orr.
