Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Elizabeth Maconchy

Letter No.: VWL2729

10 Hanover Terrace, N.W.1.

October 5th 1953.

Dearest Betty

Of course we are both coming on the 14th, and I should also so much like to come to a rehearsal if possible.1
We are settling in fairly well now.2  I am so sorry for you having it all in front of you.
I have already had the invitation to the Composers lunch, and have accepted with rather a bad grace!  The date will be December 12, NOT 5. so they say.
I am glad that you like the book, and that Anna, and all of you, are flourishing.
Love

Uncle Ralph
