Dear Rubbra,

Are you going to be at the Gloucester Festival rehearsal on September 3rd? That is the day I rehearse my Number Five¹ and, if you could possibly be there to listen and criticise, I should be very grateful.
I rehearse at 10.40 a.m. and 2.40 p.m. The early time would be the best for me.
I am also asking Gerald Finzi to do the same thing.

P.S. I enjoyed your 3^d programme particularly the cello sonata – the psalms seemed at 1^st hearing a little too lean²
