Thank you so much for the new Mass2 which has only just arrived.

I should like very much to come, if possible, on the 26th, but cannot be certain yet; but I hope we shall meet on October 17th.3

2.  Rubbra’s new work was Missa in honorem Sancti Dominici, composed in 1948 to mark his conversion to Catholicism on August 8, the feast of St Dominic, and published in 1949.
3. October 17th was a Surrey Philharmonic concert in Dorking Halls, conducted by Kathleen Riddick; the programme included Rubbra’s Festival Overture. On 26th October the Fleet Street Choir, under T. B. Lawrence, gave a concert attended by the Queen at the Royal Academy of Music. Rubbra’s Mass was included.
