Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Douglas Lilburn
Letter No.: VWL3052
The White Gates,
Dorking, SURREY.
28th December, 1949.
Dear Lilburn
Thank you so much for your Christmas letter.
I have also heard from Mr Page1 and he promises to play me your new works when he comes to England.
I was much touched by all you said about our lessons. Personally I can only look back with shame when I think of the little I did for you, but after all everyone has to find his own salvation, and you evidently have done this.
Your honey was wonderful and we have not finished the last jar yet.
Yrs
R Vaughan Williams
(R. Vaughan Williams).
Professor Douglas Lilburn,
