As to fee, as president of the society (if I am still – I can’t remember – or ex-president) I don’t want any – except my actual train fare.  As for Miss Longman – do you think you cd run to £5-5-0 for her – or what?

1. ‘Newton’ added in pencil in another hand. Dorothy Newton (later Burnaby) was Secretary (?) of the Cambridge branch of the English Folk Dance Society.
2. Possibly VW was to give a lecture to the Cambridge branch of the English Folk Dance Society, of which he was President, with piano examples played by Margaret Longman (see R.V.W.: a biography, p.105)
