Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Dorothy Howells

Letter No.: VWL3455

From R. Vaughan Williams,
10, Hanover Terrace,
Regents Park,
London, N.W.1.

December 23rd 1956.

My dear Dorothy,

If anything I can do will help Herbert to write still more of his beautiful music I shall feel amply repaid.  As a matter of fact – I loose1 nothing – it is the Chancellor of the Exchequer who looses.2
I am so sorry we could not meet at the Barnes Music Club, we had a delightful evening.
Thank you all for the lovely card, and love from us both,
Yrs

Ralph
