Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Diana Awdry

Letter No.: VWL1130

The White Gates,
Westcott Road,
Dorking.

[late September 1933]

Dear Diana

You are very naughty – I know you went without your lunch all about that wretched hat. But I do thank you for all you do for me – I love having you do things for me you know that don’t you?
We must meet again soon – have a good lunch with your Lord Justice – I wonder how the evening concert went off.
Thank you for letting me see your tramps.1 I hope that Warden will be all right – a little bit glib I thought – but he may be all right. I had a letter from Alice2 telling about poor Billy Reed being almost cut out of his Symphony.3
Goodbye
Love from

Uncle Ralph
