Dear Diana

It was dear of you & Joyce to send that telegram.
You are in full Fest1 now. I do hope it is going well. The Dream2 I think surpassed all my expectations – the choir were superb & the orchestra played up splendidly. There were about 2 tiny hesitations in the choir. I made one silly mistake – but the orchestra pulled me through that. Steuart & Astra were magnificent & H. Williams also v. good.
Now my dear do try & rest a bit & go off to Madagascar as soon as you can.
It was so lovely having you.
My love & the old fashioned sign
