1.  Secretary General of the Society of Authors. On Friday 22 June 1945 the Society of Authors held a ‘conversazione’ at Grosvenor House, Park Lane, to celebrate its Diamond Jubilee, attended by the Queen. A performance of VW’s String Quartet in A minor (Jean Stewart’s quartet) was given by the Menges Quartet.
