Dear Clive
Thank you very much for your letter & for returning the libretto – You know that I shd have loved to have worked with you on it.  But you will remember that you definitely turned down the idea of Cambridge & I therefore took if for formaly that you wd not want to do it at the Garden etc.
Your ? letter scene will be an interesting experiment.  In my opinion Nicolai will top the bill!
I send you the concert version of “Sigh No More” – will that even do – If so I have a rough copy of the full score which I will send you
