Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Cedric Thorpe Davie

Letter No.: VWL2580

The White Gates,
Dorking.

March 18 [1948]

Dear Cedric

I was very glad to have news of you once more & am so glad to hear about the incidental music.  I will certainly say good things about you.
Meanwhile the people who manage my film music are Linnit & Dunfee (Good name! Not Linnet or Done–Fee!).
I think they would undertake theatre contracts as well – they lick off 10% but I think it is worth while.
I enclose a letter
Give my love to Bruno1 & say I hope it will be a girl & as pretty as she is – also that if she had not sent her love I shd have died of a broken heart.
Yrs

R. Vaughan Williams

1. Cedric’s wife Margaret was known as ‘Bruno’; she was expecting their first child.
