Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Cedric Glover

Letter No.: VWL1642

From R. Vaughan Williams,
The White Gates,
Westcott Road,
Dorking.

Nov 28 [1939]

Dear Glover1

I hope you will forgive my sending you the enclosed.2
I know it is a difficult time to cry for help, what with taxes and increased prices.
Nonetheless these refugees are our responsibility – we can’t (if we would) send them elsewhere till the war is over.
Yours sincerely

R. Vaughan Williams
