Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Beryl Lock
Letter No.: VWL2873
From R. Vaughan Williams,
10, Hanover Terrace,
Regents Park,
London, N.W.1.
September 11th 1954.
Dear Beryl
I am so glad you enjoyed listening, even under those difficult circumstances. It was too stupid of the O.U.P. not to send you a printed copy, even if it was not sewn up.
We both enjoyed ourselves at Worcester very much.1
Love from
Ralph
1. At the Three Choirs Festival where VW’s new work Hodie had been given. This was presumably the work Beryl Lock had heard on the radio. VW had arranged for her to be sent a copy – presumably still in folded sheets.
