Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Bernard Stevens
Letter No.: VWL4112
The White Gates,
Dorking,
12th January, 1949.
Dear Mr Stevens,
Thank you very much for your letter. You were certainly lucky to have R.O. Morris for a teacher, and I know he thought very well of your work.
He was much too modest about teaching “modern” composers, and that is why he sent you to me, but of course he knew much more about it than I did, and therefore it was right that you should return to him, and I am sure you benefitted.
I am glad to hear you are teaching at the R.C.M.
Yours sincerely
R Vaughan Williams1
(R. Vaughan Williams).
