Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Arthur Boosey
Letter No.: VWL4978
From R. Vaughan Williams,
The White Gates,
Westcott Road,
Dorking.
July 3rd. [1938]
Dear Mr. Boosey
This is to introduce to you Mr. William Cole – a composer of talent and a first rate organist.
He has written a partsong for men’s voices which we wish to do at our Leith Hill Festival next April if Mr. Cole can find a publisher. I should be very glad if you would give his work your sympathetic consideration.
The Leith Hill Festival would require from 80 to 100 copies of the music – The choirs start rehearsing in September.
Yours sincerely
R Vaughan Williams
