Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Arthur Boosey
Letter No.: VWL4986
From R. Vaughan Williams,
The White Gates,
Westcott Road,
Dorking.
Nov 14 [1940]
Dear Mr. Boosey
Both Rawicz and Landauer were recommended by my Ctee for release. Why one has been released and not the other I cannot imagine …
It might be worth while for you to apply for Landauer’s release on grounds of health by direct application to the Medical Officer at his camp. I have already suggested this to Dr Aber so perhaps something has already been done about it – but my Ctee cannot appeal on other grounds than musical eminence.
Yours sincerely
R Vaughan Williams
