Dear Ann
It was dear of you to write – Adrian understands that old tune of up & down – it is 36 years old next October!1
Love from
Ralph
1. With separate note (f.181) in the hand of Ann Boult: ‘The old tune of “Up and down” was the Sea Symphony, I think the first performance after the ’39-45 War. AMB’. The Sea Symphony had been first performed on 12 October 1910.
