Letter No.: VWL3102

From R. Vaughan Williams,
10, Hanover Terrace,
Regents Park,
London, N.W.1.

July 9th 1955.

Dear Frank,

With regard to the organ preludes, I meant them to be easy, do you think it would be possible for some expert to easify them down to standard? But if that is impossible, one or two places could be made rather harder with advantage, especially in the pedal part wh. I made very simple.1

1. VW had sent in Two Organ Preludes (Catalogue of Works 1956/3) and Frank had responded that if they were to be included in a forthcoming organ album, which he had discussed with VW, they were rather too difficult. It would be better to issue them as a separate publication.
