Herewith the rest of the Sons of Light. I had already put the red rings round before your letter came. I quite approve of Grace Williams, she is an ex-pupil & dear friend.
I do not think there is any necessity for her to know about the orchestration – (I don’t know much myself yet!) All she has to do is to take my copy & make it playable by & grateful to the average school pianist – but not so easy as to take all the guts out of it.
Some places must remain in small notes e.g. p.5 l.1. b.6 LH and l.3 bb 4 & 5 in this section
As soon as you have settled with her I will also write to her
Now as regards Ursula Wood – she prefers a royalty – and I want her to share 50/50 with me please. Also she ought to have the right to print the poem in her “Collected Works” – but is willing to agree that no musical setting other than this may be made for (say) 10 years. As a matter of fact I have mauled her poem about considerably (with her leave) for my base musical purposes and she may want to print the original one day
