Dear Alan,

I have got so many things rumbling about in my solar plexus that I see no hope at present, but Ursula may possibly come out with something good, which will make a difference.1

1.  Frank had written to VW saying that there was a need amongst amateur and good public school choirs (SATB) for ‘short cycles of three to four songs, lasting 10-15 minutes, with piano or piano and strings’. He asked if VW might be able to turn his attention in this direction, hoping that UVW would ‘have some bright ideas about texts’.
