14th November, 1951.
Dear Frank
1. I think the programme of P.P.1 as it stands will do with a few alterations from me, or perhaps I shall re-write it entirely. I will see.
Certainly, the kind of voice should be put after each name. Would it be a good plan to add the compass as well? (On 2nd thoughts no)2
2. I am sending by registered post a revised version of my Symphony No. 5. Could you get your copyist to alter the copies of those copies that go out on hire and corresponding parts? It is entirely my fault and I am, of course, quite prepared to pay the expenses of this.
Do you happen to know if Barbirolli has his own score and set of parts? Anyway, we ought as soon as possible, to send him a copy of the revised score.
As regards the publication of the separate songs from P.P. You know best about your public and so I leave it entirely to you.
Yrs R Vaughan Williams
