2nd. July, 1952.
Dear Frank
I have had an indirect application from Douglas Fox of Clifton to give a concert performance of P.P.1 in Bristol Cathedral. Personally I feel that the time has not yet come for concert performances. After it is once made into a sort of Cantata it is dead as a stage piece. I do not think we have quite arrived at that stage yet – at all events, I hope not. I should like to know what you think.
As regards the arrangements you suggested in your letter of June 11th; when I have done all the other things that I have got in hand, I will try and think about it. I think I had better do it myself. Nobody else ever seems to do it right except perhaps Roy Douglas.
Yrs
